Nho Que River – timeless beauty next to Ha Giang’s rocky mountains
Nho Que River is peaceful
Along with the rugged Ma Pi Leng, Nho Que River has become legendary, entered poetry and is one of the symbols of Ha Giang. Nho Que is one of the most beautiful rivers in the Ha Giang rock flower region. Looking down from above, the Nho Que River is like a shimmering green thread extending down from the sky, hidden among the vast mountains and forests of the Northeast. Located at the foot of the rugged cat-ear mountains of Ha Giang, the Nho Que river flows peacefully all year round between cliffs, forming a blue border between Ma Pi Leng pass and Sam Pun road.
In 2009, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism classified this area as a Vietnam Scenic Monument, Nho Que River was honored as one of Vietnam’s unique Tectonic Valleys. If you love nature and adventure, this is one of the places you should conquer once in your life. Coming here, you will know that Vietnam still has many beautiful scenes that captivate people’s hearts.
During its 192km length, Nho Que River has “sent” 46km in Vietnam. Coming to Vietnam, the Nho Que River runs through many layers of jagged rocks like spikes that can pierce the sky. Thanks to the strong flow, Nho Que has created countless white rapids among the valleys and canyons hidden in the clouds, making Ha Giang both majestic and dreamy.
Originating from the 1,800m high Nghiem Son mountain (Yunnan, China), Nho Que River flows northwest – southeast, through wild and dangerous mountains and forests, pouring into Lung Cu commune (Dong Van, Ha Giang). to enter our country. The river continues downstream through the Tu San canyon, along Ma Pi Leng. When it reaches Meo Vac, it splits into two branches and flows to Cao Bang, finally joining the Gam river at the Na Mat junction.
Most of the year, the water of the Nho Que River is a beautiful emerald green, shining between the cold gray rocky foothills, next to the dark green patches in the majestic space of old forests, mountain rocks and clouds. .
At Ma Pi Leng pass next to Tu San canyon, the Nho Que river appears with the most spectacular beauty. There are no more rapids with white foam and roars, but strangely gentle and peaceful. Ma Pi Leng Pass overlooking the Nho Que River is a route dubbed “legendary” by professional backpackers because it has special slopes and bends. Coming here, you will be able to see far away to see the panoramic view of the mountains and hills, because Ma Pi Leng Pass has an altitude of up to 1,200 m.
To be able to view the Nho Que River in the most favorable position, tourists often choose to stop at Ma Pi Leng Pass. Even though we have to run through a dangerous 20 km long road, many people still like to come here to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the river and take “cool” photos on the large cliffs. The beautiful scenery here attracts not only girls, but also male backpackers who are passionate about posing.
The combination of the majesty of Ma Pi Leng Pass with the charming Nho Que has created both poetic and majestic beauty of Ha Giang. Today, this pass along with the Nho Que river has become a beautiful place attracting tourists who love adventure. The landscape here still remains pure and pristine. Somewhere on the backs of the mountains there are still ethnic villages living, and the river at dawn is full of magical mist.
